How this version enters and closes trades
When it buys
It keeps the earlier rule for buying a pullback that recovers above the lower Bollinger Band, when the wider trend checks agree.
It also looks for a new upward breakout: an hourly candle closes above the previous 20 hours, with above-average volume and a recently improving 4-hour trend. It avoids buying too far above that level.
When it shorts
The existing short strategy stays in place: price breaks below support, then a bounce fails to recover that level. Its trend and entry checks must also pass.
It can hold one long and one short at the same time, sharing this account.
How it limits a loss
For a new breakout buy, the stop distance is based on recent volatility and the signal candle’s low. The stop is then fixed. Entries needing a stop farther than 6% away are rejected.
The earlier pullback and short trades keep their original stop rules, with a 3% minimum and 6% maximum entry distance.
When it takes profit or exits early
Longs aim for twice the planned loss; shorts aim for 3.5 times. Targets allow for estimated trading costs. Actual fills and funding can change the final result.
A breakout buy closes early if two completed hourly candles close below the level it broke above. Any trade still open after seven days is closed. Stops and targets do not trail.
